When and where we meet
Meetings are held at the smaller Presbyterian Church hall, just behind the Presbyterian Church on Macquarie Rd Springwood. You can park on the street, the IGA carpark or behind the shops near the church. Note that this is a different hall in 2017 to the usual larger hall in which meedtings have been previously held.
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday nights of each month. The 2nd Monday of the month is usually an exhibition night where members exhibit their photographic works for appraisal by a visiting judge. Comments and feedback are given and points are awarded which accumulate to decide major awards presented at the annual December presentation night.
Frequently, there is a theme topic in conjunction with the open competition. Alternatively you can have your work Evaluated by BMPG members who will provide constructive comments to benefit you and other BMPG members.
There are three categories for the exhibition of work:
- Mono prints;
- Colour prints; and
- Digital Images.
Most BMPG members mount their prints on matt board for exhibition but this is not mandatory. Meetings commence at 8:00pm but photo hanging should be completed earlier if possible.
The fourth Monday of the month is an activities night. There may be lectures, demonstrations, model shoots, tabletop photography, excursions, visiting presenters etc. The club participates in Interclub competitions with other clubs with work being submitted on an individual level or at a club level, as well as excursions with members and other organisations
